- Malaga Airport is very important for Spanish tourism. The airport is also known as Pablo Ruiz Picasso Airport in honor of a world-famous painter. Flights to Málaga have used in 2010 more than 12 million passengers from 60 countries around the world. The airport has 3 interconnected terminals. Terminal T1 was once used for flights to Malaga from countries outside the Schengen area. All flights were shifted from T1 to other terminals in March 2010, so the T1 terminal is currently out of service. Terminal T2 is divided into 3 floors. The first floor is reserved for passengers waiting for their departure. The arrival hall is located on the ground floor and underground there are parking spaces. The newest T3 terminal opened by King Juan Carlos in March 2010. The capacity of the new terminal is 30 million passengers per year respectively. 9,000 passengers per hour.
